MRI: a versatile tool
for diverse applications

Historically, brain MRI has predominantly been employed for detecting tumors, neurological and vascular conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or vascular dementia, as well as for understanding axonal brain organization for surgical planning. However, today, MRI can also be used as a diagnostic tool for psychiatric disorders. With this single tool, we can ascertain whether atypical behavior is linked to structural, vascular, or functional abnormalities, enabling us to provide the most effective treatment.

Incidental screenings?

QuantaBrain’s software requires only 1 minute of scanning, making it worthwhile to inquire if any patients undergoing MRI scans would also like to receive psychiatric/mental health screening. This is particularly relevant for toddlers with hydrocephaly, who frequently undergo structural MRI scans and are at an elevated risk of late diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Compatible with all MRI
equipment and protocols

Our method seamlessly integrates with any MR scanner and functional T2*-weighted acquisition protocol. We recommend a repetition time (TR) of 2 seconds and isotropic voxels of 3x3x3 mm^3. During the scan, patients can choose to keep their eyes open or closed, and even fall asleep if they wish; however, they should avoid sedation and engaging in intense mental activity.
